"in a swimming pool, all things are possible (...) so dive right into your New Years resolution."

Aquatic exercise is one of the best low impact workouts you can do to tone your body and to stay fit. Not only is it easy, but it provides your muscles with additional resistance using the forces of water that you cannot get out of a swimming pool. Water cools your body so you can workout longer and recover faster. Water also provides a weightless environment for you to try movements that are nearly impossible on land since you are not dealing with gravity. Imagine performing a pirouette or levitating? Well, in a swimming pool, all things are possible.

Now consider the physics of water exercise. When you immerse yourself in water, hydrostatic pressure presses against your body. This can help with swollen joints and aches and pains. The deeper you go, the more pressure that is applied against your body, so if you have ankle and foot issues, simply standing in water can help alleviate swelling and joint pain, plus it is refreshing to take a dip in water.

As you move in water, you feel resistance every way you move, so simply swinging your arms and legs can really tone you up fast. So dive right into your New Years resolution.
