My typical shopping experience:

Find something online that catches my eyes, try to find out if that brand runs small or big compared to typical sizes, order it, wait a couple of days, the product arrives, and try it on.

Two ways it goes afterward:

  1. It fits fine and I continue to wear it regularly.
  2. It's not a great fit and I have two options now. Return and get another size or I can continue to wear it, donate it or leave it in the bottom pile of the closet.

More often than not, they end up in donation pile after being in the closet for a year (probably wore it once or twice).

All of this hassle can be solved if I know, I am going to get my "true size" where ever I shop online.

Fictional Company:

Integrates with fashion retailers to offer this "true size fit."

Consumer - Finds an item, orders it with their profile, gets the item, and be happy.

Retailer - Gets the order, sends the material to the company and have a happy customer.

Company - Gets the material, sizes it, ships it out to the consumer, and have a happy retailer & customer.

This option would charge the consumer extra $$.
