I am affiliated with a company that offers a major training event once per quarter. I wrote about a concept from the last training in April here. I have attended four of these major events, the first one was a year ago in July called Bootcamp. This weekend the cycle repeats for another Bootcamp.
The training is a mixture of nuts and bolts stuff about the business as well as personal development. In fact, I would say 80% of the training is personal development.
Without question, these training events have moved the needle for me. I'm not talking about the business side. In fact, as far as the business goes not much is happening and I'm fine with that. Perhaps I'll discuss that aspect in more detail in a future post. For me, the needle has moved personally. I credit these events with giving me the focus and motivation to take charge of my health. The idea for Project Food as Fuel was seeded at one of these events. The idea of sharpening my writing skills and committing to writing every day was solidified by these events.
You can read all the books, listen to all the podcasts, watch all the YouTube videos you want. There is no substitute for immersing yourself with a group of like-minded people who want to take their lives to the next level.
Over the last year I have given up four weekends, but that sacrifice has paid off immensely.
Of course I'll be sharing my notes.
Let the #PowerWeekend begin.
