When do I have a good time?
- A nice tv show. I love courtroom drama and documentaries.
- A nice book. Usually at a cafe or outdoors somewhere nice. I love bookstores but they seem to have all been assassinated
A nice barbecue lunch or a simple meal. I prefer being at a restaurant. It's nice when there is no cooking or cleaning involved.
With a close friend
At a nice quiet restaurant. The goal is to talk. I do not understand places with loud music. What is the point?
With a group of close friends
At someone's house,
a small meal,
long honest conversations.
And some tea.
With my dad
A nice restaurant, good food and the best conversations. The discovery of the power of genes in shaping how we think and respond to complex ideas in similar ways. This doesn't happen as often as I would like but every time, I realize how much I have in common with my dad. I assumed that a lot of my reading and experience has shaped my beliefs; then one dinner with my dad and I realize - it was all him.
That's my definition of a good time.
